Utah Caricature – SLC Comic Con 2014

Well the Salt Lake Comic is over and what a crowd.  Pretty crazy overall. I was a little disappointed I wasn’t placed in the Artist Alley but apparently there is some lame SLC Comic Con rule that Utah Caricature artists cannot be in the same realm as the “real” artist.  It still was quite the adventure and I learned a lot from my first Comic Con as a vendor.  Utah caricature is still not as big as it could be and maybe that’s why they have some rule banning caricature artist from being around the “official” artists.  Anyway, I posted a few photos of my live caricature work during the SLC Con.

American Greeting Cards – Aug 2nd

Come join me and American Greeting cards this August 2nd between 10am-4pm at Harmon’s grocery store at 672 East 11400 South in Draper Utah.  I’ve been hired by Kaman’s Art Shoppes Inc to draw live caricatures to help American greeting Card’s marketing promotion in the greater Salt Lake City area.  The caricatures are free to all those who come! Check out my gallery and get excited about having your caricature drawn…and do a little grocery shopping at the same time. It’s a great time and worth traveling to Harmon’s store for a very unique drawing of yourself and picking out some great American Greeting cards for all occasions.  I promise to be NICE!!

Live caricatures are one of my specialties and can be drawn in a variety of styles.  The most common are the black and white “carnival” style.  Other styles include colored “carnival” style, air brushed drawings, and highlighted drawings on toned (colored) paper. So, come and say “hello” to me, Doug Stout, and see what style I’ll be drawing.
